Booking and the Big Day, Start to Finish

Once the preparation is done, the appointment is where everything holds steady. You book a time, arrive with the car and papers, and the examiner takes it from there.

It begins with a booking: reserving a slot through the CSDD system means arriving on a day and at a station that suit you, with no queue and no uncertainty about being seen.

On arrival you present the car and your documents, and an examiner works through a set sequence of checks: brakes, lights, steering, emissions and the structural essentials.

If everything is in order you leave with a fresh stamp; if something needs attention you receive a precise list, and putting it right is rarely as daunting as it first sounds.
